Costa Rica

These tours are truly and experience of a lifetime. This is especially true for those of us from North America who don’t get the opportunity to fish the tropical waters of the pacific ocean.

First off, Santa Teresa / Mal Pais is somewhat of a hidden gem in Costa Rica. It is a bit of a challenge to get here, but once you do, you won’t want to leave. This area has great surfing, restaurants and bars, without the tourist development and influence as most other destinations along this coast.

The location of Mal Pais makes it arguably the best location for fishing in Costa Rica. This is because of its close access to deep water.

Equipped with a fleet of tandem Ocean kayaks, your guides will take you on an Ocean fishing adventure. Your guides Pablo, Alex and Martin have many tricks up their sleeves to give you the best chances at a fish of a lifetime. I have to warn guests….. these fish are strong!! They will give you an amazing fight and have you grinning from ear to ear the entire time.

Getting up early is part of this experience. Being at the fishing village at 5 or 6 am to start your paddle will ensure you are on the water when the action starts. Trust me, it’s worth it!

Starting your day early means you can have had a seemingly full day of adventure and still be enjoying a refreshing beverage at a local establishment by lunchtime.
