Waterford Ponds

Waterford Ponds or Shadow Lake is a great body of water that is always relatively calm safe for fishing from our Angler Kayaks

Your BAER guides are all very familiar with this location and know where the bass are hiding. It is up to our guests to make well placed cast and entice the big ones to bite.
Some fishing experience is recommended for fishing here, as the fish here are typically tight to cover. Precision casting helps your chances of hooking up with Largemouth Bass up to 20+ inches.

Waterford Ponds is also a great place for groups just looking for sightseeing tours.

Although the main fish species we target here is Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Crappie are also here in good numbers.   This is an ideal place for top water fishing action on sunset fishing tours.  We use artificial baits only on Waterford ponds and all Largemouth Bass and Pike are released.  If we catch Crappie, our guests can take them home for a tasty treat if they wish.

2016 was the Inaugural Black Bridge Centennial “Big Bass Battle” at Waterford Ponds. 23 anglers hit the water on Aug. 13th 2016 for a great day of fishing. Lots of fish were caught and great prizes including $250 cash were awarded to Mike Luke of Simcoe ON who caught the largest bass of over 19”.

We plan to host this tournament again in 2017, but a date and details are still being decided.
